Assembly & Mounting
The IKEA box has been in your living room for three weeks.
A handyman for the small jobs nobody will take: furniture assembly, TV mounting on plaster or brick, shelves, curtain rods, childproofing, picture walls. Bring-your-own-tools not required.
- Turnaround
- Same-day slots when booked before 2pm, otherwise next day. Most single items take under 90 minutes.
- How pricing works
- Flat per-item pricing — a bed frame is a bed frame whether it takes 40 minutes or 90. Multi-item jobs get a bundled quote before the slot is confirmed. Wall anchors and standard hardware are included; specialty mounts are quoted separately.
- Where
- Manhattan · Brooklyn · Queens · The Bronx · Staten Island
What's included
- Flat-pack assembly — IKEA, Wayfair, Article, cribs, desks, bed frames
- TV and monitor mounting on drywall, plaster, brick, and concrete
- Floating shelves, curtain rods, blinds, mirrors, and gallery walls
- Cable concealment and basic cord management behind mounted TVs
- Childproofing: anti-tip straps, cabinet locks, outlet covers, gates
- Haul-away of the boxes and packaging when the job is done
What's not
- Drilling into anything the building prohibits — check your lease first
- Electrical work behind the wall, like routing cable to a new outlet
- Painting, patching, or plaster repair beyond filling the holes we make
- Moving the furniture between addresses (that's Muscle on Demand)
If you need something on this list, send it through the box below — some of it we can arrange, it's just not part of the standard job.
How it works
- Describe the job and upload a photo of the item or the wall
- Get a flat quote and a same-day or next-day slot
- Pro arrives with tools, hardware, and a drop cloth
Who it's for
- New arrivals furnishing an apartment with no drill and no car
- Renters who need it done right so they get the deposit back
- Anyone who has lost a weekend to an Allen key
Questions people actually ask
Do I need to have the item already?
Yes, it has to be on site. If you also need it picked up from a store or a seller, book Muscle on Demand and we'll combine the two into one visit.
What if my wall turns out to be brick or the anchor won't hold?
That's why we ask for a photo up front. If the pro finds something the photo didn't show, they'll tell you the options and the price difference before drilling anything.
Will this pass a landlord inspection when I move out?
Mounting always uses the least invasive anchor that will safely hold the load, and we can come back to patch and fill on move-out as a separate job.
Your situation not covered above?
If what you need is close to this but not quite it — a weird building, an odd hour, a job that spans two of these — describe it here. It goes straight to the founder, and unusual requests are how new services get added.
